Rawlinson Rivera is the Global Field Chief Technology Officer at Cohesity, Inc. He is well known as an industry thought leader on cloud enterprise architectures and hyper-converged infrastructures. Rawlinson joined Cohesity’s leadership team after 10 years at VMware, where he served as Principal Architect working in the Office of CTO for the Storage and Availability Business Unit.

Focused on defining and communicating Cohesity’s product vision and strategy, Rawlinson works closely with the product and engineering teams to provide customer insights and use cases for feature enhancements and future roadmap prioritization.

With over 15 years of experience in the IT industry, Rawlinson has devoted much of his proessional career to the design of enterprise architectures of physical, virtual, and cloud based infrastructures, based on VMware, Microsoft, and other leading technologies. In addition, he is amongst the few VMware Certified Design Experts in the world (VCDX#86), and he holds a multitude of industry leading accreditations from VMware, Microsoft, IBM, and Cisco.

Rawlinson has also authored numerous books based on VMware and Microsoft technologies such as Mastering Virtual Infrastructure 3, MCITP: Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Messaging Design and Deployment Study Guide, and MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Application Platform Configuration. He also holds several patents on storage, containers, cross-clouds and policy driven technologies and is very proud of his collaboration with the storage engineering team for this success.

Rawlinson is also an enthusiastic and widely sought-after public speaker, as well as author of the popular blog PunchingClouds. He currently resides in LA with his wife and son.
